MASSAGE IS USED TO ENHANCE OUR AWARENESS AND POTENTIATE TISSUE INVOLVEMENT IN MOVEMENT.
all this means is when we take the time to manipulate adhesions aka “knots”, we bring our attention to what is often undetected and allow our muscles to lengthen or shorten as needed. this enables our body to move more rhythmically.
when our myo-fascia is tense and tight, our body is much less likely to move in the ways we need. it leads to a taxing of the system as a whole because the body works around it (as described in the Posture & performance section).
